The Mandrake

The Mandrake, set in a secluded spot on Newman Street in Fitzrovia, is very central, with Oxford Street only a short distance away, and Soho, Covent Garden, and the West End all within easy walking distance. Tottenham Court Road station is 5 minutes away, providing good access to the rest of the city.

The Mandrake is full of glamour. The interiors are filled with art, dramatic lighting, rich fabrics, and exotic plants, and the central courtyard features massive Tasmanian tree ferns alongside hanging gardens. The atmosphere feels close, bohemian, and rather mysterious. No other hotel in London is quite like it.

Rooms have a dark, sensual feel, with high ceilings, rich textures and atmospheric lighting, balanced by crisp Italian linen and rainfall showers. The suites become increasingly theatrical, with sumptuous fabrics, freestanding baths and more dramatic interiors. At the top, the Penthouse delivers The Mandrake at its most extravagant.

The Jurema Terrace offers a wonderfully escapist outdoor atmosphere under climbing jasmine and passionflower, with views of the hotel's lush courtyard, while YOPO Zaytoun serves up bold Eastern Mediterranean flavours through shared plates. The Waeska bar is famous for its creative botanical cocktails and DJ nights.

The recently opened DAMU Spa includes a multi-sensory Origin Pool, Mud Caves and a variety of body and advanced skin treatments. Together with yoga, sound healing, and a Spiritual Concierge, the hotel's spiritual programme makes its approach holistic.
