The Rathbone Hotel, Fitzrovia

Tucked away just off Charlotte Street, The Rathbone puts some of central London’s best restaurants and bars within a few minutes’ walk. Soho, Oxford Street, the British Museum and the West End are all within easy walking distance, with Covent Garden around 20 minutes away. Goodge Street station is about three minutes away, and Tottenham Court Road about five.

The Rathbone has the intimate feel of a London townhouse, with warm, understated interiors and a more personal atmosphere than its central location might suggest. Step outside and Fitzrovia is buzzing. Back at the hotel, things feel noticeably calmer.

Rooms blend classic British touches with a softer contemporary look. The smallest rooms are compact, so we’d consider the Classic Doubles for more breathing space.

There’s no full restaurant, but Albert’s Bar offers a relaxed spot for a drink before heading out. That suits the setting. Charlotte Street and the surrounding Fitzrovia streets are packed with excellent places to eat, many just moments from the hotel.
