The Montague places you in the heart of Bloomsbury, surrounded by elegant Georgian streets, leafy garden squares and some of London’s great cultural institutions. Soho and Covent Garden are within walking distance, while the West End's theatres, restaurants and shopping are close by. The British Museum is just around the corner, and Russell Square and Tottenham Court Road stations make it easy to explore further afield.
Classic London Character
The Montague is unapologetically traditional. Expect rich fabrics, antiques, patterned wallpaper, and plenty of old-school charm. At the back, the hotel overlooks the private gardens of the Bedford Estate, bringing an unexpected sense of calm to such a central part of London.
Individually Designed Rooms
No two bedrooms look quite the same, with bold fabrics, antiques and traditional furnishings giving each its own character. The garden-view rooms are particularly appealing, while the Junior Suites offer more space to settle in. For something more indulgent, there’s also a beautiful collection of individually designed suites, some overlooking the gardens.
Dinner, Drinks & a Garden Terrace
The Blue Door Bistro serves classic British dishes, while the Leopard Bar offers cocktails and live jazz on selected evenings. The Garden Terrace overlooks the private Bedford Estate gardens and is a lovely spot for lunch, afternoon tea or drinks when the weather is good. There’s also a modest fitness room with Peloton bikes and a treadmill.
